Rebuilding your trust center and questionnaire library

Short answer

Rebuild the trust center in the new platform before you switch the old one off, keep the same public address if you can, and move your approved questionnaire answers as a reviewed library rather than starting again.

Why does the trust center need special care?

Your trust center is the one part of your compliance program that customers see. Prospects and existing customers may have bookmarked it, and sales may link to it in every deal. A broken link or a missing report during a switch is visible outside the company.

How do you move it safely?

  • Export every document, policy summary and FAQ from the current trust center.
  • Check which of them you are allowed to publish again (some reports are shared only under NDA).
  • Build the new trust center and review it before it goes live.
  • If the trust center runs on your own subdomain, point it at the new platform on changeover day; if not, redirect the old address where you can.

Platforms describe trust centers differently. Sprinto lists a public trust center with a custom domain on Foundation. Vanta lists a Trust Center on every plan. Scytale says its Trust Center is pre-filled from compliance data.

What about security questionnaires?

Your past answers are an asset: they are wording your security, legal and sales teams already agreed. Export them as a library with the question, the approved answer, the date and the approver. Import them into the new platform's questionnaire tool, then review the answers that reference the old platform.

How do allowances affect the move?

Some vendors publish how many questionnaires their AI tooling handles per year. Vanta lists 25 a year on Plus and 144 on Professional; Sprinto lists 20 a year on Foundation. Others do not publish an allowance. If your sales team answers many questionnaires, check the allowance on the plan you are buying.

What should you tell customers?

Usually nothing, unless a contract requires notice. If the trust center address changes, tell the customers who use it and update the link in your sales materials. If your report timing changes because of the switch, tell the customers who are waiting for it.

How do you keep the library current after the move?

Assign an owner to the answer library and review it on a fixed cycle, for example each quarter and after any change to policies or infrastructure. Retire answers that mention the old platform, and record the reviewer and date on each answer so sales knows which ones are current.
